We take pride in our strong academic reputation. Over the past 4 years,
our school has consistently improved its academic state scores even though 98% of our students are at-risk students, dropouts,
and children already involved in the juvenile justice system. For the past two years, we have received an "acceptable"
rating from the state and barely missed the requirements for an "exemplary" rating. Through extensive Staff Development
and Teacher Mentoring we hope to improve our teaching skills each year.

Our classroom instruction is based on the TEKS mandated by the State of Texas with emphasis
being placed on the TAKS examination. Our classrooms are equipped with 4 computer terminal sites in each classroom and
a 30 computer technology lab in which students may log on to our extensive Plato tutorial, Understanding Math program and
a host of other web resources.
